It’s been an open secret for many years among smart whiskyphiles that America’s neighbor to the North makes excellent whisky.
Unfortunately this secret is still too closely held and most people’s opinions of Canadian Whisky begin and end with Black Velvet, Canadian Club and Crown Royal. Which is a shame because some of the best whiskies in the world are consistently being made in Canada. Really. It’s true.
And to prove it, we are having a Canadian Whisky Tasting and Book event led by Davin de Kergommeaux. Davin literally wrote the book on Canadian Whisky. All tasting attendees will receive a signed copy of his book: Canadian Whisky: The Portable Expert. The tasting is August 13th at Waterman Grille from 7-9 pm.
We’ll be tasting seven whiskies, most of which aren’t available in the United States. If you think you know Canadian Whisky – this tasting will change your opinion, for the better. Whisky Advocate Magazine has rated several of these whiskies in the mid-90s and we’ll have the top whisky of Summer 2013.
