As the leaves turn color and fall from the trees, the cooler weather naturally turns a person’s thoughts towards….Whiskey of course.
We are proud to announce a tasting with the Buffalo Trace Distillery October 22nd at 7pm at the Waterman Grille.
We’ll be tasting five Bourbons and one very special Rye. The tasting will be led by Jobie Smith, North East Sales Manager for Sazerac, the parent company of Buffalo Trace. This will be a great opportunity to learn about Buffalo Trace’s Bourbons and to taste five Bourbons side-by-side plus we’ll also be tasting a rare Thomas H. Handy Sazerac Straight Rye. The Thomas Handy is released once a year in very small quantities as part of the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection. It is next to impossible to find in stores, at any price, and this is a rare opportunity to taste this Rye which was recognized as World Whisky of the Year 2013 by Jim Murray’s Whisky Bible.
Our full lineup includes:
- 1792 Ridgemont Reserve Bourbon
- Buffalo Trace Bourbon
- Eagle Rare Single Barrel 10 Year Old Bourbon
- W. L. Weller 12 Year Old Bourbon
- Blanton’s Single Barrel Bourbon
- Thomas H. Handy Sazerac Rye
Tickets are $30 and are available for purchase at Bottles Fine Wine in Providence. As always, we’ll be serving light appetizers and having our end of the evening raffle (so bring cash) to raise money of Operation Stand Down Rhode Island – benefiting homeless veterans. So far with your support we’ve managed to raise over $1,100 for ODSRI – thank you very much for all of your past support.
Whether you are new to bourbon or you’ve individually tasted all of these whiskies – tasting the 6 of them together is a great way to really learn which Bourbon, or Rye, is your favorite, irrespective of price and why you like that particular Bourbon and/or Rye. Get your tickets quickly – our tastings are starting to sell out very quickly. I hope to see you there. -t
